The ST-LINK tab, if you haven't snapped it
Nucleo boards ship with the ST-LINK programmer on a snap-off section. Whether you've broken it off changes the board outline substantially — and it's the single most common source of a wrong outline on an STM32 brief. Tell us which state yours is in, and if you're keeping it, whether the enclosure needs to expose its USB connector.
Header stack height
Nucleo boards carry both Arduino-compatible and morpho headers, and if you've got a shield or a daughterboard stacked on top, the enclosure is really being designed around the stack rather than the board. Send photos of the assembled stack, not just the bare PCB — this is where inferring from board files alone goes wrong.
Thermal headroom on the fast parts
An H7 running near its ceiling puts out real heat, and a sealed print traps it. The F0 and L4 parts generally don't need the same consideration. We size ventilation to the part and your actual duty cycle rather than adding vents by reflex — a prototype that only ever runs at 10% load doesn't need holes in it.
Debug header and BOOT0 clearance
SWD or JTAG connectors stand tall and usually sit somewhere inconvenient, and BOOT0 jumpers or DIP switches need reaching if you're still flashing over anything other than USB. We plan access around how far along the board actually is — bench prototype and customer demo unit get different answers.
